Organic wine is made from organically grown grapes. No chemicals are used, although most organic winemakers add sulfites in the cellar as a preservative which makes the bottles ineligible for the USDA “certified organic” stamp. So, the majority of organic wines get labeled with the less-stringent “made with organic grapes.”
